🐺 Freemans Bot & Rust+ Connect - Privacy Policy

This page covers two things run by the same clan: the Freemans Bot website (this site) and the Rust+ Connect browser extension for Chrome and Firefox. Both exist to link your Rust+ account to the bot so it can sit in your in-game team chat - nothing more.

What Rust+ Connect (the browser extension) does

When you click "Connect via Extension" on this site, the extension:

Opens Rust+'s own Steam sign-in page (companion-rust.facepunch.com) in a new tab.
Reads the sign-in token that page hands back after you sign in with Steam - the same token the official Rust+ mobile app reads. Your Steam password is never visible to the extension; Steam's own login page handles that part entirely.
Sends that one token, once, to this site (thewolves.up.railway.app) over HTTPS, so the site can finish pairing your account and wait for you to press "Pair with Server" in-game.

The extension only ever talks to those two domains - they're hardcoded into it, not configurable by any page it visits. It does not read, store, or transmit anything else on any other site, and it does not run at all outside those two domains.

What the website stores after you link

Once pairing succeeds, the site stores:

Your SteamID64 and linked Discord account (needed to know who you are and to enforce that only registered clan members can link).
An encrypted copy of the Rust+ player token the game itself issued for that pairing (needed to keep the bot's connection to your team chat open) - encrypted at rest, never logged in plain text.
When you linked and when the bot last connected, so the site can show you an accurate status.

This is kept until you disconnect that server from the site, unpair it in-game, or your clan registration is removed - whichever comes first.

Security logs

Security-relevant actions (sign-ins, pairing attempts, rate-limit hits) are logged with a timestamp, an event type, and an IP address, purely to detect and investigate abuse. These logs are automatically deleted after 30 days.

What we don't do

We don't sell, share, or hand your data to any third party, advertiser, or data broker.
We don't show ads or run analytics/tracking scripts.
We don't use your data for anything other than what's described on this page.

Extension permissions, in plain English

storage - remembers your pairing code briefly while you sign in, so it survives the extension's background process restarting mid-flow.
tabs / scripting - opens the Steam sign-in tab, and (Chrome only) can attach its page-detection script to an already-open tab of this site if you install the extension while that tab is open, so you don't have to reload the page.
notifications - shows a native "signed in" / "try again" notification after you sign in.
